Artist’s Statement

The original design was machine pieced with hand-dyed cotton fabrics using the hand-dyed-potato dextrin resist circle print fabric as the focal point.  The rings were layered with additional batting for raised trapunto droplets.  Machine quilting surrounding the droplets completes the ripple effect for many undulations.

Resist-dyed cotton and hand-dyed cottons. Machine quilted with silk thread. Hobbs Heirloom fusible cotton batting.
