DESCRIPTION: Northern Lights is a luminous, quilted digital artwork created through a collaboration between husband and wife. Karen and Larry blend and alter original photo images into abstract compositions of butterflies and rainforest plants.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT: We want to share our fascination and love of nature. We never tire of exploring the colors, patterns, and textures that nature has to offer. By highlighting only the textures, patterns, and shapes, and altering the colors, we transform the ordinary into a radiant modified reality.

MATERIALS: Original photos digitally printed on satin polyester fabric with cotton batting. Quilted with silk thread
