DESCRIPTION: This fiber art quilt is a unique piece created by Karen Hampton. Machine pieced with hand-dyed cotton fabrics using the hand-dyed-potato dextrin resist circle print fabric as the focal point

MATERIALS: Resist-dyed cotton and hand-dyed cottons. Machine quilted with silk thread—Hobbs Heirloom fusible cotton batting.

SIZE: 43” x 43 1/2”

ARTIST STATEMENT: The original design was machine pieced with hand-dyed cotton fabrics using the hand-dyed-potato dextrin resist circle print fabric as the focal point.  The rings were layered with additional batting for raised trapunto droplets.  Machine quilting surrounding the droplets completes the ripple effect for many undulations.AWARDS: International Quilt Association, Houston, TX 1st Place Award in Art Abstract, Small, 2007
